When I used cloth diapers for my babies, I had a "diaper pail" where the diapers went...dirty ones after being schlunked out in the toilet...and I kept a solution of vinegar and water in it...adding to it as needed to 'soak' the diapers. When the pail was full and/or I was ready to wash, I poured everything into the (top loader) washer, set the machine to pre-wash----advance-to-wash, added soap to the vinegar water solution, filled the auto-dispensing detergent, bleach, and fabric softener bins...fabric softener was filled with vinegar solution. I used hot water for the wash cycle, of course, and my babies never had diaper rash, and the diapers came out clean and smelled fresh.

Any pail or tub (with a handle or handgrips, preferably) and a snap top or well-fitting lid would work...especially the kind that kitty litter comes in that has the divided, dispensing lid. Just an option...
