I didn't think you were bashing her one bit...far from it. I understood exactly how you saw the comment, and could see how that could be hurtful if, say, a parent of one of those children read it.
I've really grown to dislike the use of 'bashing', period. It's tossed around a bit too casually now and it causes problems beyond the initial problem. To me, bashing is like "you're a horrible pet owner, you should crawl back into the whole from whence you came" --- or whatnot, ya know? Or name calling etcetera. That's bashing.
