After you are there and know your schedule and feel that you are settled in, then bring your dog for a visit and see how it goes. I live in a house with a yard, so both of us would have trouble if we had to move to an apartment with an elevator or stairs, plus she barks when I leave. This is not a problem in my house but it would be in an apartment. So keep all those things in mind when you search for a place to live. Good luck
