my advice is to go there with the intention of bringing the dog eventually, find a place that allows pets and suits your needs like does you pup potty outside. After you are there and know your schedule and feel that you are settled in, then bring your dog for a visit and see how it goes. I live in a house with a yard, so both of us would have trouble if we had to move to an apartment with an elevator or stairs, plus she barks when I leave. This is not a problem in my house but it would be in an apartment. So keep all those things in mind when you search for a place to live. Good luck
