That's a good question Megan. I would wonder that as well. Have you changed his diet recently? Check to see if you are feeding a high quality food. Sometimes lesser quality food can cause gas and it could be painful at some point. Have you noticed your puppy "tooting"? Best advice I could give is when in doubt, head to the vet.
Also there are others on this site that have way more knowledge than I do with yorkies and may be able to give you other recommendations. Hold tight for more advice or just call the vet. Good luck, I hope and pray it isn't anything terrible.
