We will most likely wind up with three or four bags for the two of us because we also own our own skis and boots, I even bought a new "light weight" suitcase and have considered going back to my old suitcase that does not have the rolling wheel set up, that alone adds a fair amount of weight.
Even my last trip to NY with Lola had me close to the limit and I leave a lot of the heavy stuff at my parents house, but LOL I did pack a lot of outfits, jewelry and grooming products for Lola so that is probably what did it
