However if you re-read the first post you will see that the reason was more about polling a group with yorkies of similar age to post about weight and size, very little else was said about all the other parts of raising a fun and healthy yorkie. I for one find that odd.

I would like to add a little more info that perhaps will help you understand what happened on this thread and why so many people took offense with the OP (originally poster aka thread starter)

After being on YT a while you get a feel for what's norm and what's not. When you you see posts that wave a red flag or questions many of us will do a
search on the other posts made by the person in question. If you do that with this OP you will see that in the short time she has been here, less than 2 weeks she has started 14 threads, first off that is a lot for someone new, secondly once you look at the topic of each thread you will find that 9 of them are all about what size your yorkie is. Since I don't know anything about you forgive me because I might be telling you things you know about yorkies, but over the last several years there have been many breeders and buyers trying
to breed and buy the smallest yorkies out there. This has been bad for the breed and lead to numerous health issues, so as a whole YT is sensitive to people trying to raise micro mini yorkies. Also regardless of who starts a thread or what the original topic is, if information posted is not accurate or could give false impressions members will speak out. I am not a health expert but I do know that YT has many members that know as much and sometimes even more than an average vet does on the care of yorkies, for this I am very
grateful. You will find in time what a great group of caring people are on this site and be greatful for their advice and calling a spade a spade when needed.

Such a nice post Donna, welcome Candy, I have been following this thread but haven't posted as I don't like to get involved in very controversial topics.
Most members here are lovely but they do get very upset when they think a poor little pup or full grown dog is in any way at risk, I believe we should all be trying as best we can to do what is right for the sweet defenceless animals we take in to our homes and hopefully hearts. Some people come to this site and are rude or post things that will so obviously upset those that are devoted to the Yorkshire Terrier breed which does at times make people a little suspicious.
If you read some of the other threads started by this poster there have been many posts that have given members cause to be concerned that this little one must weigh no more than 4 pounds and that food may be rationed to achieve this.

You will find lots of help and support here.
