Once you are infested, you need something to break the life cycle of the eggs and fleas. Talk to your vet.
Vacuum your entire home every single day, including under as much furniture as possible. Wash bedding and everything else that can be washed as often as possible.
You can use regular dog shampoo and really soap up your dog to kill fleas and wash away eggs. Rinse really well with water.
