The breeder should send you home with food. If you are not happy with the food I personally would change it. You can do a slow transition so there is not affect on him- half the time they pick out the new food and leave the old anyway. I wasnt happy with what Peanut was eating so I changed it- nothing happened, he was perfectly fine.
