I had the exact same feeling when we brought Princess Sophie home. We let her get used to us for a few days then began changing her over to the food we wanted her to eat. I also heard that if you are switching to a high quality of dog food/puppy food, you can change over all at once but we did it gradually. We have had her now for three weeks and she is completely converted over.
To transition/convert your pup to a new dog food, begin by adding a small amount to the food she has been eating then after a couple days, add more. You can increase the amount of the preferred food easily this way and your pup should be happy.
I know Yorkie's can be finicky eaters but we haven't had any problems with our Princess Sophie. Good luck with your transition and oh yes, welcome to YT and congrats on your new baby. Glad you are here! Post picts when you can please. We love picts.
