I am super paranoid about food born illness when it comes to my family and thinking of that I know I couldn't take the chance of giving the dog something that could be contaminated. I think there are cooked diets for dogs also but I know I would not have time for that. So I picked wellness because it supposedly has no byproducts and is made with people grade food (hence the cost) of course this decision I have made has some risk so I will be watching closely for recalls and such. But the risk of eating raw chicken to me seems way higher. I know a lot of people are all for these raw diets and I don't doubt that their dogs get a healthier grade food than mine but even with all the good I've read, with my OCD tendencies it wasn't an option. |
no Candace you are not on my ignore list and your house sounds like mine. Pooky's been well over fed the past few days and he doesn't seem to have an end to his chewing no matter how much he's given but happy he didn't eat poop yesterday; that I know of. One of the reasons my husband was so upset with me was he said he's a puppy and always going to be asking for more no matter what he's given and I believe him.
There are certain products and practices in the USA that are unheard of in the country I live in. I'm sure you're making the best decisions you can that you are comfortable with and I am too. I don't buy certain brands of chicken that are turkey sized chicken breasts. Not sure if you've ever seen Food Inc but that really grosses me out. In this country, you can still find normal sized chicken lol
