I have adults that weigh approx 8 lbs. They get 1/8 cup in the morning, 1/4 cup about 4 pm, and 1/8 cup again about 8 pm. Of course, you want to make sure that the puppy is getting what he needs, we used Royal Canin when they we little and tried to keep close to the recommended amount. But I also think 3 times a day may be a good option.
