Hello, I believe I may have put a thread of mine in the wrong section as I am getting the wrong type of responses!

Anyways, my question is how can I transition my 4-year old yorkie from scheduled wet food eating to a "free feeding" kibble only diet?

Hes been eating cesar his entire life. Some nights he gets boiled chicken instead. He will eat kibble sometimes late at night on his own.

Only concerns of mine are that if he doesn't eat for very long, he could throw up yellow acid/liquid. Is this ok for a few times in an effort to get him to eat on his own?

Main question...how to transition him to free-feeding.
