why do you think epilepsy drugs are "horrible"? My teddy has been on a drug now for two years without any problems. There are progressive vets along with specialists that go for less offensive drugs than the old phenobarbital. I don't like having to medicate my dog ever 12 hours but I would rather do that than come home to a dead dog who has been seizung for 8 hours and has a 108 degree boiling hot body temp. The benefits outweigh the risks and far outweigh the costs and inconvenience. Don't be afraid of seizure medication but do be afraid of untreated seizure disorder.
