Giant Schnauzer's actually do shed, though. Like the Airedale terrier as well .... but those two particular dogs are "low-shedding" dogs because they do not shed as much as, say, a German Shepherd or even other such short hair breeds.
However, if you're looking for a dog that doesn't shed as much, I would definitely look into the Giant Schnauzer or the Airedale terrier. Of course, all large dogs (and little) require a lot of training and socialization to be good companions for both yourself and other dogs.
The Giant Black Schnauzer is my third choice of large dog that I would choose.
My choices being: Airedale terrier, Irish Wolfhound, Giant Schnauzer
