I totally understand your ick for shedding and your hubby's desire for a dobermine. I'm considering getting a dobermine as my next personal protection dog but with their ears clipped they do have some ear concerns and not as scary looking without it done.
We have both trained rottweiler and boxer for guard protection that stay outdoors. The more socialized and obedient the better. Any breed will obey you if you train them. They are very both very good with the yorky. The yorky has a big dog attitude so not intimidated by the larger breeds. Just have to look out for the yorky if the big dogs start horsing around.
A non shedding man dog, perhaps you could look at a black giant schnauzer. They're a working class breed. |
