I dont think there is a more gentle dog than a great dane  Duke was fantastic with dogs,cats and my kids who were little back then.My yorkies LOVED him to death!!

A german sheppard killed my yorkshire terrier Jess...one shake,and she was dead.He broke her neck.He was my mother in laws dog,so he was used to being around Jess.I do not recomend a german sheppard at all  |

Oh, I agree, Great Danes are wonderful. I had a beautiful Mantle girl named Molli. I loved that dog. She was such a mother hen. She was not aggressive at all. She used to stand between me and anyone she didn't know. I would love to have another Dane, but my heart was broken when she passed away from bloat.
