Actually, I think we are doing pretty well. Someone on YT suggested that I have Sophie sleep in her crate on the nightstand next to our bed. Because she has a travel carrier/crate, it really works out well. She can see me so she doesn't feel alone and when/if she wimpers during the night, I can get her out of her crate and to the potty pad instantly (decided to put one on the floor next to our bed). I am so thankful for this advice because it has really relieved my mind about the "what if's". Maybe this will work for you as well.
