Well....living in metro AZ is not a help...it's an air trap for tons of allergens...all year round. Do the ears have any odor? If yes, there may be a bacteria or yeast infection in there - for which you'd need ointment from the vet.

Did you switch foods, treats, anything? Also, sign up at pollen.com so that you can get daily emails as to which pollens are in the air in your zip code - this can really help with understanding what your dog is reacting to -and ultimately- help you predict next year's allergy timing issues and whether to medicate during those times with, for ex, Temaril P or steroids etc, depending on quality of life.
