OP - Size is (mostly) predetermined, but not really so linear where a person can just predict infallibly. Even the very best breeders will tell you it's somewhat unethical to say that they can predict size for you. That doesn't mean if they discuss it theoretically, they're unethical...it just means that since they all know it's just a prediction, it means it could utterly be wrong since outliers will always change the game.
At the end of the day, weight only means something when it has to do with being overweight or underweight. Dog owners should just shoot for "right weight" and that's it. If weight is causing you this much anxiety, it may be worthwhile to consider giving the puppy back to the breeder, and instead getting an adult who is at the weight that you are desiring. |



Excellent idea...problem solved.....get an adult that fits into what you are wanting in your dog, rather than trying to make the dog fit into what YOU want, by hook or crook. That way, what you see is what you get, no charts, no guessing, no starvation diets.......
