When mine were puppies, I used a mail scale...but it only goes up to 5lbs. However, I think you can also get cheap mail scales that go up to 10+ pounds. The other option is to weigh yourself, then grab the furkid, and weigh yourself holding them. Of course, it may not give you the accuracy you're looking for...
