I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through right now. It takes such a short time for our best friends to make their way into our hearts but a very long time to grieve their loss. Please know with each passing day it will get a tiny bit better, although the sadness never totally goes away. I can think about many a dog or cat I had a few months ago or 50 years ago and it can still bring tears to my eyes. But it also brings fond memories and the warm feelings of love we had together, no matter how short the time.
