Yes, they often can be asymptomatic....trust me I did not know it either. This was quite the shock for me. As I look back there were subtle things...but nothing that would have screamed out liver shunt. In spite of that the criticalist said she is still against BATs on all yorkies. I know I will be hypervigilant now of any subtle things. I am SO grateful that it was caught before he ended up throwing more shunts and being inoperable.

He is home and looking great!
