Honestly, every Simplicity pattern I have ever used has given me fits. There always seems to be one part of the pattern that doesn't get explained in a way that I can understand it and I end up having to figure it out myself by trial and error. I'm sure it's me because other people don't seem to have this problem. McCall's patterns however, I never seem to have any problems with. Now I am not professionally trained. I taught myself how to sew when my mom decided that since my fingers were smaller than hers, I could learn to make my own Barbie doll dresses. Eventually I made all my high school formals myself. LOL
It wasn't until I bought a new sewing machine, after I had been married about 20 years, that I began taking lessons and have learned so very much. Since then, I'm not afraid to try most anything.
End of story...I guess I'm just a McCall's girl! LOL
