Buddy Belts do not break my boys' long hair. (Our car seat tethers broke some hair in the middle of Teddy's back, but I have covered the tethers and we don't have a problem now).
There is an exhibitor here who started with a one show boy and one pet girl. He said the pet girl never had any breakage, but his boy had a little on his back so he stopped using the harness while the boy was showing.
The Choke Free doesn't break hair either, judging from my YT friends' doggies' coats.
