I'm just excited and wanted to share with "dog people." I signed up about a month ago to be a foster for the humane society. Saturday afternoon, I got a call they needed someone to take in a lab mix who just had NINE PUPPIES!!! I'm so excited!
They're keeping them until Tuesday to be sure the momma is feeding them all and taking care of them. They are providing everything. I have a spare bedroom upstairs I'm going to keep them in at first, since it seems to be warmer up there and it gets the afternoon sun. Later, I will move them to the kitchen downstairs where there is linoleum once the pups are more mobile. They need me to keep them 8 weeks and bring them in twice during that time for vet checks. Seems like a fun adventure. I love to take in animals in need. Hoping there's no incidents with Lilly or my old female cat. She's declawed and almost toothless and I hope momma dog realizes she's no threat to the puppies.
