I just bought one for my daughters BD, I bought thru my bank and they
activated it for me, how ever, she did tell me there will be charges when
she uses it at difftent places..Im not real sure about that but did not have to
give out any personal info, there was a 5 dollar charge for the card. as far
as your SS # no you do not give that out, just like using one connected to your bank, you should never have to give out personal info, only show id.
