I am curious if anyone else's YTs coat was as short as his in the beginning. His siblings all had longer curlier coats. He is AKC & the only dogs in the home were the Yorkies. I do not plan to breed him, & as I said I fell in love with him. I went with my heart & not looks. I made a good choice because he is so sweet. But there is a part of me that hopes he will eventually grow out a longer coat. He does have longer hairs that stick out in all the right places, on top of his head, under his chin, at the muzzle, & paws. If anyone's adult YT looked anything like the picture that I hope is attached I'd love to see them. Also if this is a duplicate post I apologize. I posted it earlier today & it has not posted. He is deffinately adorable!!

,but I think heīs a mix..he doesnt have the facial features of a yorkie puppy and his ears seem different too.Being as females can have pups from different sires in the same litter,I would wonder if thatīs what happened here? Could that be possible? I have NEVER seen an 11 week old yorkie pup with such short hair, especially on its face, and the fact that he has tufts of it here and there is also another sign that he could be a mix.
Thereīs absolutely nothing wrong with that,I actually owned a yorkie for 6 years and after worrying and obsessing for years as to why her coat was so short and her muzzle so long,we actually found out that there was a dachshund in her lineage

Her breeder had tried to "grow it out" by mixing the yorkie/dachshund mix with a pure bred yorkie and so on,but there was always one or two pups with obvious dachshund traits that never went away..and one happened to land with me.
I LOVED her to bits and she was a FANTASTIC dog,but her coat was all wrong from the start and it never grew out even though she had tufts of long hair here and there.I will find pics of her as a puppy and an adult so you can see what I mean
