Try this to ease in your sleeves etc: use a long stitch near the edge of the sleeve. Then, gently pull the bottom stitch until your sleeve size matches up with the length of where you're attaching it. Pin, starting from the middle & working back to each edge, then sew. This is called "easing in" your sleeves.
