Anyone can advertise on the AKC website, it doesn't mean that they are a good breeder. I always recommend that you go to the YTCA website and look for breeders close to you. I think it's important to get to know the breeder and learn about her breeding program and why she's breeding. Don't expect the breeders to answer an email quickly, they get hundreds of emails. I recommend calling them, and let them educate you about the breed. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club You can expect to have a Yorkie 12-16 years, you want to find one that’s healthy and a good example of the breed, and you up your chances by going to a reputable breeder.
