Btw I wouldn't advise ever getting multiple vaccinations at the same time. |
Ask about that anesthesia....you WANT that! There is another gas tht starts with an "S" that is even better, they say...
Additionally, my vet always:
has an IV infusing, with glucose, the entire procedure, and post op as well....they d/c the IV right before the dog is released to me.
Always does pre-op blood work, checking liver, kidney function.
My vet uses an IV pump to deliver accurate IV fluid rates to the dogs.....or they use a type of IV that has a chamber (buretrol) that hangs below the IV bag...they put a specific amount of fluid in the chamber and infuse from there....this keeps your pet from getting too much fluid during and after the procedure...(I had a vet kill one of my babies by giving too much fluid...so THIS safety measure is very important to me and absolutely a deal breaker if they do not use Ivac pumps or Buretrols on their infusions.!)
Always get pain medicine......my vet gives Tobuterol (Tobutrol ?sp?) in Vitamino...It is a liquid, it works really well, is very easy to dose, is well tolerated....it is great.
