I am sure these are not the healthiest of treats, but I give our two DentaStix and Jack, who will be four in May, may have his first dental this year. (Not sure yet - he goes in next month for his yearly visit). My vet has been thrilled with how good his teeth have been maintained. I also let them chew on bully sticks, which they love. And as of yesterday, I just started "brushing" their teeth. Hoping to prevent a dental for Jack at this point - the less they have to go under anesthesia, the better! Good luck.
