Hi Meagan!

I have a new puppy too but she sleeps in our room at night. She sleeps in a crate by our bed on our night stand and she sleeps well. I take her out every 4 hours to pee and then put her right back into her crate. She loves our bed and we messed up one of the first nights by letting her fall asleep there while we were up late. She did not want to go into her crate! She wanted to sleep with us! As tempting as that was, I could not let that happen because I was scared of her falling off our bed or us rolling over on top of her. The next best thing was the crate and that's the night we started using it. She cried cried cried but then noticed nothing would happen if she kept at it and settled down.

I would also caution you about taking your little boy to work so young. I would wait until he gets his last booster shots. They can get diseases from other dogs, and even if they (the other dogs) are vaccinated, it's a big risk.

I wish I could take my little one to work! Do you have any family that can come over during the day and play with him a little or check on him?

It's not much help really but I turned the camera on on our computer once and was able to watch her from work hehe (sounds creepy right?) I couldn't play with her obviously but I could watch what she was up to and if she was eating and behaving while home alone. She usually just slept a lot...

What about lunch time? Is there any way you can drive home for lunch to be with him for a little bit? Maybe you and your spouse can take turns? Just some suggestions cause he's so small and can get lonely.
