I am on #2 now and I will say Xpen will be your best friend BUT you still need to have them used to crates so I crate at night right next to my bed... Puppy pads are great Guinness was started on a pad and now knows to go outside BUT with our Fl rains if it is bad raining that week I keep pads on hand to have for those moments but even then I have to do it in the garage or else he feels like he will get in trouble for going inside... Granted I have caught him marking his new sister once
I work 8:30 to 5:30 and my husband could leave the house anywhere from 7am to 10am and come home anywhere from 5pm to 8pm and we do just find.. He even has to leave out of town from time to time in fact he was not here the first 11 months we had Guinness. So you would be fine... Just make sure you know and research the breed and how hard to potty train and stubborn they can be and make sure you and him are up for this breed... I would never talk somebody out of a Yorkie BUT I want to make sure they know what they are getting them selfs in for hahaha because they are truly like none other.
