Duvet lover here Never had an issue with it.

Is your duvet upside down on the bed? The opening should be hanging off the bed at the bottom, or tucked into the footboard, if you have one.

I have a sleigh bed, so the part of my duvet cover that opens is buttoned closed, and then securely tucked in the footboard of the sleighbed.
