Thanks for the replies. It breaks my heart to see them fighting - The dad has such a lovely temperament on his own, as does the baby. We fought really hard to keep the baby alive during the first few months of his life and couldn't bare to part with him, hand rearing him, etc... Maybe we've been too soft with him.
Yes, the mother has been spayed as there were terrible complications when she gave birth so we didn't want to put her through that again. The mother is the calmest of them all but does stick up for her baby when needed
