Hi....we are the proud parents of two senior yorkies......Shelby is a 9yr 10 month old puppymill rescue. She lived in a crate for first 9 years of her life. She is tiny one....4lbs 4 ozs.
She touched grass for the first time when the rescue brought her to her Jersey foster home.

After we adopted her it was a long learning session for both of us....teaching her to walk on leash, going potty outside, etc. Now, 10 months later she is a sweet baby doll. She (mostly) goes outside for potty time, follows me everywhere...we call her velcro pup....and has finally been allowed to sleep with us. She loves going out in the truck and seeing everything. It took her about 6 months to allow my husband to hold her. Now she goes to him if she can still see me. Just recently she has allowed our daughter to hold her and gets excited to see her come in the house. There have been a lot of changes in her since adoption. She still doesn't know how to play.

Hopefully one day she will ..... she does respond if she sees a video of yorkie babies on my computer or hears puppies cry. They said she may have had more than 18 litters of puppies. I really hate puppymills.

This last week is the first time she actually walked in snow.....she did not like it much.....lol
About two months ago, we went to Save a Yorkie rescue and adopted another sweet senior. Her name is Lady Lily and is 13 yrs old. Lily is larger than Shelby....Lil weighs in at 8 lbs. 7 oz. and is a Sweet quiet lady. Biggest problem with her is has a bad habit of going in pen at nite and spreading it around.....messy...yuk. She can't sleep with us until she adapts to our rules. these little darling have a place in our hearts and I couldn't imagine life without them. We still say Adopt...don't shop. The puppies are adorable, but so many of them come from the animals kept in these puppymills in horrible conditions.
