I feel for you. Mine says things like that just to push my buttons. And he truly doesn't understand about smaller dogs. With him dog = generic.

It's good that you have a voice in your relationship and can tell him when he hurts your feelings! But sometimes, we just have to accept the fact that they just aren't going to get it! Then we have to decide what's worth fighting over, and what isn't.
