I have been using diaper changing pads that I had left over from my girls. They work great, and are SO much cheaper! I've found Carter's brand from Target to be the best. Gerber brand tends to pill up horribly in the wash.
I AM going to make covers for them, though. I will probably use quilting cotton just because of the design choices.
