Default I am so scared

I just got home from taking my little 12 year old Bear to the ER. When I got home from work he had thrown up at some point during the day. Bless his little heart, he led me to it and then hung his head as if to apologize. I immediately hugged and kissed him, telling him "it is okay". He NEVER gets in trouble for this type of thing. As a matter of fact he rarely gets in trouble for anything.

We went for a walk and he seemed fine. I gave him a portion of his evening meal. Two hours later he threw up again. Within 10 minutes he threw up a 3rd time. When he threw up he was "choking". (The ER Vet is concerned he may have aspirated). I immediately took him to the ER.

After running blood work she found that he has pancreatitis again. He has a history of this disease and is on a special diet. She said I did good by getting him in so soon. I am looking at his blood work and I believe it is the AMY that relates to pancreatits and it is at 1483.

They gave him anti nausea meds and other meds to help him calm down. They brought him out so he could sit with me a few minutes and he was like a limp dishrag. But, strong enough to give me puppy kisses...ALWAYS taking care of me!!!

Of course I had to leave him for the night so they could rehydrate him and continue to treat the pancreatits. I called just a few minutes ago and they said he is calm, but alert. They also said he is breathing better which is a good sign and a possibility that he did not aspirate.

I am so afraid of losing him. I lost my husband 3 years ago to lung cancer (He was only 56) So my Little Bear is the only famly I have and he is such a special link to my husband (They were "buddies").

This house is way to quiet. I miss my little guy SO much. But, I had no choice, I had to leave him in the hospital so that he would get the care that he needs. I think I am more afraid of the aspiration than the pancreatits, and the pancreatits terrifies me!

Sorry for the long post; just need to talk to people who understand this special bond that I have with my precious little guy.

Thanks for listening!
