That is a much larger responsibility than most people ever think about when they decide to own an animal. You can give your sweet baby no greater gift than that. I euthanized my sweet Lucy three weeks ago, and my heart is still ripped to shreds. Oh, how I loved that precious gift from God, and I miss her more every day. How I wish I could just hold her one more time, and signing that paper to have her put down was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life. But I know with all my heart, that I did the right thing for her, and that I did what the Lord gave me the permission and the responsibility to do. Keeping Lucy or Gidget alive any longer would have been cruel and self centered. Doing the right thing sometimes comes with great personal pain. Thank you for having the grace and mercy to do what was best for your sweet girl. She needed you to act on her behalf, with the right heart attitude and motives.
