I would recommend that you use an all natural sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. There are several on the market. Yorkie Splash and Shine, Isle of Dogs, BioGroom, Pet Head are a few of the all natural brands. Using a product like that will keep your pet's skin and coat from getting dried out from frequent washings.

I keep Gracie in a long coat and bathe her weekly using mostly Yorkie Splash and Shine products. These little dogs love to sit in your lap and sleep with their humans and it does not take much to keep them clean. Many also use a spray conditioner for between baths. It helps stop static and makes combing out and brushing much easier for both of you.
