I'm looking to get a yorkie in the next 12 months. Right now I'm doing "ground work" trying to find a good breeder, etc. I want to make sure I get a happy, healthy Yorkie from a responsible breeder. I live in Michigan, but I would be willing to travel to surrounding states too.

Having done a lot of reading on the subject I'm leery of buying a puppy online without actually meeting the breeder/home. So idealy I would want to find a breeder that I could visit, and pick the baby up myself. My sister adopted a "Shorkie" (Shih tzu/yorkie mix) from a friend of her boyfriend's (bought the dog, but traveled too much & gave him up) & he was originally shipped from Washington D.C. I don't really want to go that route, and have a dog shipped to me that I've only ever seen pics of.

Does anyone know of a good breeder (hopefully from personal experience) in the MI/OH/IN/IL region?
