I've been looking at various pet insurance plans because we are getting a new puppy at the end of March and your question prompted me to call the veterinary practice we use and see how much they charged for various services and procedures. I was astounded at how much the costs have risen since our other dog was a puppy-she'll be eight this June. The cost for a neuter goes from $265-508 depending on how many office visits, pain meds, blood panel screenings, etc. are needed. A dental cleaning is $80, x-rays are recommended and cost $20 and each puppy tooth extraction is $10.
