Ooh OOH! I don't even know how to read a pattern properly! Everything I make comes from my own head! I only have a Brother but some day I hope to have a real sewing room and an awesome machine. My sister just inherited her MIL's antique Singer. That thing is amazing!!!!!!
Also, I'm a self taught sewer. My machine did come with a DVD about how to use the machine and I just figured out everything else from there. It sure beats sewing by hand!
