Momo tore off his dew claw while playing w/a ball under the couch & it must've gotten snagged...he bled a lot.
I cleaned it & bandaged him up & took him to the vet.
Clean the wounded area w/hydrogen peroxide, the one in the brown bottle, it doesn't sting. It's probably best to just pour it on the wound. (Don't let him lick the hydrogen peroxide, it's used to induce vomiting.) Bandage it up so he can't lick it, licking it can make the wound bigger or infect it. BTW, he's licking bc it hurts & there's probably some blood on his hair. Take him to the vet 1st thing in the morning if you didn't take him in already. Vet needs to see it & check if there's no broken bones, some dogs have tiny bones in the dew claw area.
