I think you'll get more help on this if you post it in the Sick and Injured section of the forum..

I don't have any experience with ACL tears or LP, but I'd try to find a way to get the surgery done. He is obviously hurting and needs the surgery. Plus, I would worry it would heal wrong (IF it heals on it's own) and then need the surgery anyway..and maybe worsen the LP. IMO, surgery is the answer. However, I'd find a vet and surgeon I completely trust.
