I did it, yea

Bob Mackie watch out there is a new dog in town

HaHa two years ago you could have knocked me over with a feather if you said I would one day make two flapper dresses for dogs. Well along came Lola, then yorkie talk, then the fashion forum and then the sewing machine and now let's say I found new weird hobby.
As many of you know i am going to NY to visit family and will be attending a lot of the "Pet Fashion" week parties, the big one is a Roaring 20's theme so I made a dress for Lola and my sisters Dog Lucy.
I learned a lot with this project. I put interfacing in the bodice and doubled it around the button hole for the harness ring to poke through. I also used bias on the top of the inside of he skirt, which I am sure I sewed in the wrong way but I made work. I worked with a lot of trim including glass beads I found on Ebay
Since like KJC pointed out in another thread dogs are horizontal so fringe does not hang well, so I glued the fringe to the skirt and used two layers to give it more fullness. I wanted to use a different pattern that would cover the chest up. Well after trying some practice patterns I could not get a good fits. So I came up with what turned out to be a better option. I sewed fringe in the front of the neck area and it covers just enough of the chest and it does not drag on the ground. Anyway I hope you like the dresses
