Madie is very much a part of our life and we do love her. And I never stated that we didn't have time for her. Since my yorkies me they are with me constantly. I work in my home and they are always in the same room as I. I say that our house isn't big enough because I don't beleave in keeping dogs in a kennel or small pen and ours our aloud to run the house. Four is plenty to keep up with, since we have three children. I'm suffering enough heart break from having to do this with out being attacked by everyone. Madie is a young dog and we do expect to have her fixed after she has weaned her pups. Our dogs are far from abused, and we are trying to prevent poor breeding. Yes she is bred now and if you read some of the posting on the breeders page you will see that accedents happen. I'm sure that, yes there are breeders out there who get their dogs fixed and keep them, but I'm sure there are ones here that have also had to sell a dog. They just won't pipe up bc they don't want to be attacked. By the way this is sooooo of topic. If you want to sling mud at me send me a personal message. Or start a new thread. |
I am sorry if it seems that you are being the scapegoat of all of this. Maybe you aren't one of the breeders who regularly practice this. From the way you have presented yourself, you are getting rid of a dog you love because your husband says she can't make you any money, so there's no point in keeping her. In that case I think you should stand up to him and tell him all the reasons you would like to keep her around. If you don't, it sounds like you don't want to keep her either.
For all of the breeders who do practice this I would like to understand it better. I would like to know why it's okay to get rid of a female after she is "retired from breeding." Those dogs have given you the greatest gifts in the world, their puppies and all of their love. I believe that you would owe it to them to make sure they are well taken care of into their senior years. I would like to understand why it is accepted in the breeding world to use the best years out of it's life and rehome it or leave her in a rescue. If someone could enlighten me I would really apprecaite it.
