I think you really do just have to see what works best for your pup, and for yourself. As I posted in another thread, if your little one refuses a food, or has digestion problems, it doesn't matter one whit how well the food is rated on paper or a website.
I tried for 2 solid weeks to get Sam to eat the Wellness, based on my own research and budget. I finally gave up when he went almost 24 hours without a single bite. I went last night and bought Simply Nourish from PetSmart. So far, so good! He happily ate it last night, and this morning with a small spoonful of canned.
I'm sure it will be frowned on that I gave him a "store brand" food. But I don't give a rip, because my boy is actually eating. Unless or until I have reason to be concerned, and as long as he is healthy and happy, I'm perfectly happy with it, too.
